I'm constantly amazed at the number of so called SEO consultants and Internet Marketers who do not know that Google has free tools that you can use in your effort to make money on the Internet. You don't need to buy thousands of dollars worth of software when Google gives it to you for free. Plus, Google's free tools are generally a lot better than the software you pay money for!

Webmaster Tools - This is Google's free tool for you to keep up with your websites. This tool will tell you the top 20 keywords you rank for plus the percentage of traffic those keywords are bringing to your site. Webmaster Tools will also tell you how many links you have pointing back to your site among other things.

Analytics - This is probably one of the most comprehensive tools on the Internet, at any price! With this free tool from Google you can drill down into your sites statistics. Find you where your traffic is coming from, whether it be search engines or from other sites. It will even tell you if they were bookmarked or if the user just typed in your domain name. It also tells you the most popular keywords on your site and how many hits they generated. Analytics will also tell you the most popular pages on your site and how many hits each of those pages produced. All this and more for just having a Google account!

Google's Keyword Tool. This is a great research tool.
